Caricatures, the online war - Buffer Overflow
Caricatures, the online war - Buffer Overflow: "Zone-H publishes the list of the websites defaced during the last three weeks in sign of protest against the publishing of the Prophet Mohammed's caricatures : 'Aftermath from the Prophet Mohammed digital protest: three weeks after'. 2,158 websites have been counted, the overwhelming majority of them being Danish. The defacement of a website means hacking the web server hosting it and substituting the site's home page. In this case, the home pages of the Danish sites have been replaced with, guess what, images of burning Danish flags and manifests against the countries incriminated in the caricatures scandal. The website of the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, the first who published the caricatures, hasn't been defaced (yet) - good security, guys ! - and neither France Soir's website simply because it has been offline during the last year. Even if mostly personal websites have been defaced due to their weak security, I prefer this kind of confrontation compared to burning down flags and embassies and threatening people's lives."
